I Have Some Things To Show You: LA Flower District Blooming Plants
Lucy and I met in Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago to hash out some “business stuff” face to face. The next morning we made an early morning excursion to the L A Flower District – a floral wonderland smack in the heart of downtown. I want to show you some of the plants, most of them blooming, which we had the extreme pleasure to come in contact with. And yes, I touched most of them!
My senses were firing on all cylinders in no time flat. The sights, the smells, the textures, and the sounds of the vendors yelling across the stalls had me awake in no time flat. It is the largest wholesale floral district in the USA, covering a 6 square block area packed with flowers, plants and supplies. We visited the LA Flower Market and the Southern California Flower Market – the 2 largest and oldest establishments in the district.
Let me show you some pretty plants:
It’s a good thing that I’d taken the train down from Santa Barbara. Otherwise, I just know I would have packed the car fuller than full with everything I saw that I wanted. Public transportation was a wise decision because all I bought was a bolt of ribbon!
